Juan Perez

Juan moved from Portland to Montana after returning from Germany where he was stationed as a medic in a receiving hospital for casualties in support of Desert Storm in 1991. He enrolled at Salish Kootenai College in the winter of 1995, majoring in Native American Human Services and playing basketball for the college.

In 2000, Juan graduated with his Bachelors in Human Service and was hired as the Student Activities and Athletic Coordinator for SKC. As Student Activities and Athletics Coorinator Juan worked as the advisor of the student government, coordinates campus tours, coordinates various student activities, oversaw intramurals and all aspects of the basketball program. July 2016 he was assigned as the Director of the Joe McDonald Fitness center and gym, the Silver Fox Golf Course, and Athletics.

Fall 2002 Juan began coaching the women’s basketball team. In 15 seasons of coaching the Lady Bison his teams have won 5 Tribal College National Basketball Championships (2007, 2009, 2010, 2014, & 2017) and have finished in the top three 7 other times.

Juan is married to Jody (Cahoon) Perez and they have four kids; Olivia, Jony, Robert and Sierra.
